A Geotab Case Study
Ferrovial Servicios, a Madrid‑based waste management and municipal services provider with a fleet of more than 200 vehicles servicing roughly 700 containers, needed to optimize routes, avoid local fines for overflowing bins, and consolidate data from multiple sensors and systems to better assess fleet performance and inform business decisions.
The company deployed Geotab GO devices and MyGeotab, integrated third‑party weight sensors (installed on about 60% of containers) and local Telefónica services to deliver real‑time location, fill‑level and collision data. Drivers now target only containers at or above 70% capacity, routes were reduced from three to one, costs and overflow penalties fell, and fleet intelligence—dashboards, alerts and analytics—provides a single platform for faster, data‑driven decisions.
