Mistik Management Ltd., a Saskatchewan-based forest management company operating a 189-truck logging fleet, needed a better way to monitor deliveries to meet Roads and Transportation Partnership (RTA) rules for speed and payload. Older technology made gathering accurate fleet data slow and time-consuming, limiting visibility into driver behavior and haul metrics.

Mistik partnered with two other mills to equip all RTA-hauling trucks with Geotab telematics and share a single database, allowing custom real-time reports on location, speed, payload and driver habits with one GPS per truck. The system improved compliance with the Ministry of Highways, produced more accurate haul rates, sped up accident investigations and complaint responses, extended coverage into remote areas via satellite, and delivered cost savings and enhanced driver safety.
