City Council of Donostia / San Sebastián pilots 3D building models at LOD200 with Geograma

The City Council of Donostia / San Sebastián sought to advance its strategy for creating a city-wide 3D building layer. The challenge was to design a robust and automated methodology for generating 3D building models at LOD200, which required analyzing, cleaning, and integrating various data sources into a consistent workflow that could be scaled beyond a pilot phase. The council engaged vendor Geograma to develop this solution.

Geograma implemented a solution by defining a methodology and developing automated Spatial ETL workflows to generate the 3D models, using tools including AutoCAD Map and a Digi3D photogrammetric workstation. The result was a successful pilot project delivering a 3D building dataset in CityGML format for a specific area. This provided the city council with a validated, scalable approach and a solid foundation for future applications in urban planning and management.
