Departmental Service of Fire and Rescue of Maritime Alps - Customer Case Study

The Departmental Service of Fire and Rescue of Maritime Alps (SDIS 06) faced the challenge of providing widespread access to its critical GIS information for nearly 5,000 agents across 80 sites. Their existing system made it difficult for remote and disparate personnel to utilize geographic data for emergency response and planning. To solve this, they enlisted vendor GeoConcept to implement a more accessible intranet-based mapping solution.

GeoConcept implemented its Internet Server (GCIS) and High Traffic Client (HTC) web solution, creating a centralized application called "SdIsGéo." This provided all agents with easy, installation-free access to the GIS via their intranet portal, facilitating the daily update and sharing of vital information like hydrant locations. The solution resulted in improved synergy between departments, greater involvement from agents like firefighting operators, and enhanced efficiency in decision-making and emergency operations for the entire department.
