Palm Beach County School District strengthens safety across 200+ campuses with GeoComm

The Palm Beach County School District, the tenth-largest school district in the United States, faced a significant challenge in ensuring safety across its 200+ campuses. Limited visibility into complex building layouts during emergencies was impacting response times for first responders. To address this, the district partnered with GeoComm to implement a comprehensive indoor mapping program.

GeoComm deployed GIS technicians to create detailed indoor maps for approximately 1,700 buildings using LiDAR scanning technology. The solution, delivered through GeoComm's Map Viewer and Map Data Manager applications, provides first responders and 9-1-1 centers with immediate access to critical building information. This resulted in one of the most comprehensive school safety mapping programs in the country, enabling faster, safer emergency response and ensuring compliance with state legislation.
