Denco Area 9-1-1 District maps 884 buildings with GeoComm to speed indoor 9-1-1 response

The Denco Area 9-1-1 District faced a critical challenge in locating 9-1-1 callers within large, complex university buildings, which caused delays for first responders due to a lack of detailed indoor maps. To enhance emergency response, the district partnered with vendor GeoComm on an Indoor Map Development Project to gain accurate, real-time location data for its Emergency Communications Centers.

GeoComm implemented its indoor mapping solution by educating stakeholders and analyzing school floor plans to develop high-quality indoor datasets. The project successfully mapped 884 buildings, including 434 schools, encompassing over 35 million square feet. As a result, Denco 9-1-1 now has precise indoor location data, empowering first responders with visual building representations that lead to faster, more informed emergency response and protecting over 800,000 residents.
