A Gensler Case Study
Western Kentucky University faced the challenge of evolving business education, needing to modernize its spaces to support new teaching models, foster collaboration, and create a welcoming environment for all students, including first-generation students. To address this, the university partnered with vendor Gensler for the design of the new Amy and David Chandler Hall for its Gordon Ford College of Business.
Gensler's solution paired a classical exterior with a modern, flexible interior featuring a three-story open stair, a Bloomberg trading lab, and various collaboration zones. This created a continuous flow and provided technology-rich, professional environments. The impact was significant, as the building became a popular campus destination that actively prepares students for their careers, boosts confidence, and breaks down barriers between students and faculty, deepening Gensler's ongoing partnership with the university.
