University of Tasmania builds a campus master plan for Hobart’s CBD with Gensler

The University of Tasmania partnered with Gensler to develop a campus master plan and urban design framework for its new Hobart CBD location. The university's challenge was to realize its vision of becoming a university of and for the city, which required a deep understanding of cultural, educational, and pedagogical imperatives to guide its next phase of development.

Gensler's solution was to create a master plan informed by foundational site elements and community engagement, guided by the principles of Place, Sustainability, Community, and Connectivity. The resulting design by Gensler is inclusive of the university's CBD sites and responsive to its mission, paving the way for the institution to become an integral part of the Hobart urban realm.
