Tarrant County College District transforms Northwest Campus with Gensler as 60% of learning moves beyond the classroom

Tarrant County College District sought to enliven its Northwest Campus and redefine the student experience to align with its mission of being a cohesive, student-ready institution. To achieve this, the district partnered with the architecture firm Gensler to create a showcase 21st-century learning environment.

Gensler's solution involved the integration of four new academic buildings and the reskinning of three existing ones to transform the campus into a more cohesive unit. Knowing that a significant amount of learning occurs outside the classroom, Gensler designed a variety of flexible, nurturing environments with lifestyle and hospitality elements to accommodate different learning styles. This approach provided enhanced collaboration spaces, aiming to keep students on campus longer and ultimately lead to stronger academic results.
