Star Alliance faced the challenge of creating a world-class airport lounge at Charles de Gaulle Airport that would reflect an authentic Parisian identity while meeting the needs of modern travelers. The goal was to design an intimate, layered experience within an open footprint by maximizing natural light and utilizing local, sustainable materials. Gensler was enlisted to provide its design services to reimagine this space.

Gensler's solution blended Parisian heritage with modernity, creating distinct destinations like a Champagne Bar and Tea Salon within the lounge. The design utilized an all-glass façade for natural light and sourced materials and furniture from French artisans. The impact was significant, resulting in a 70% increase in guest ratings and a 15% rise in visitors. The lounge was also named the Skytrax World’s Best Airline Alliance Lounge in 2024 and 2025, affirming Gensler's design as a driver of commercial success.
