A Gensler Case Study
The customer, Shiseido Paris, a premier global Japanese beauty company, faced the challenge of creating its first EMEA headquarters in the competitive Parisian market. They needed a workplace that would reflect their Japanese heritage, unify their diverse beauty brands, and support complex business operations with flexible, specialized environments. The vendor, Gensler, provided design services to address this challenge.
Gensler designed a four-floor headquarters that combined workspace, collaboration areas, and specialist environments like makeup studios and fragrance booths. The solution was informed by the Japanese concept of omotenashi hospitality and featured natural materials and greenery inspired by Japanese gardens. The impact was a more integrated and flexible way of working for Shiseido, which improved efficiency, reduced reliance on external facilities, and strengthened organisational cohesion across its EMEA operations.
