SAP Group creates a flexible hybrid workspace across 3 Tokyo campus sites with Gensler

The customer, SAP Group, sought to evolve its workplace to support a flexible, hybrid work style as part of its "Pledge to Flex" vision. The challenge was to create a new Tokyo office that would act as part of a larger campus ecosystem to accelerate innovation and collaboration with clients and partners. The vendor, Gensler, provided interior design and brand design services to address this need.

Gensler implemented a solution that utilized digital technology to create a Flex Workspace designed for spontaneous encounters and collaboration across departments. The design incorporated elements to support employee wellbeing, such as greenery, relaxing sounds, and aromas, alongside providing snacks and drinks to encourage breaks. The result is an office that flexibly responds to changes in business and the environment, enabling an optimal post-COVID work style. For its achievements, the project received the 2023 Nikkei New Office Award, Creative Office Award. Gensler's work for SAP also extended to the interior design of their Osaka office.
