Pinterest México designs a 3,800-square-meter workplace with Gensler

Pinterest México, the Mexican subsidiary of the global inspiration and discovery platform, partnered with the design firm Gensler on an interior design project for its new Mexico City office. The challenge was to adapt Pinterest's brand promise of limitless exploration to resonate with the local Mexican culture and create a workspace that would both inspire and amaze employees and visitors by drawing from the country's rich heritage.

Gensler designed a sensory journey through the office, drawing inspiration from a kaleidoscope and Mexico's sights and traditions. The solution included features like the Sanctuary of Fireflies spiral staircase, a Mezcal Bar, and cenote-inspired concentration spaces. The impact was a welcoming atmosphere that successfully blends Pinterest's spirit of inspiration with traditional Mexican influences, creating a discoverable work environment that turns each day into an enriching experience. The project won a 2023 Gensler Design Excellence Award and a 2024 IIDA Global Excellence Award.
