Case Study: Oscar Mike Sports & Training Center creates an inclusive training facility for injured veterans with Gensler

Oscar Mike Sports & Training Center creates first-of-its-kind adaptive training facility with Gensler

The Oscar Mike Sports & Training Center, a facility dedicated to injured veterans, sought to create a first-of-its-kind adaptive sports and training center. Their challenge was to design a holistic environment that would support veterans of a wide range of abilities, emphasizing camaraderie and wellbeing. The vendor, Gensler, provided design and architectural services to bring this mission-driven project to life.

Gensler implemented a boundary-pushing design that redefined accessibility, ensuring every detail allowed for equitable and comfortable use of the space. The solution included customized courts for adaptive sports like wheelchair rugby, along with living accommodations, a business center, and areas to dine and relax. Through this innovative design, Gensler helped create a facility where veterans can discover new ways to be active, independent, and engaged with their physical and mental health.
