KAYAK reuses existing furniture and fit-out in Berlin office with Gensler

KAYAK, together with its parent company Booking Holdings, partnered with the design firm Gensler to create a new travel-inspired office in Berlin. Their challenge was to design a workplace that reflected their international scope while also focusing on a sustainable approach to the project.

Gensler's solution implemented a design that divides the office into global regions, using unique color palettes and destination-themed meeting rooms identified by airport codes for easy navigation. With a lens on sustainability, the project retained and reused a significant amount of existing furniture and fit-out. The resulting space features a large, flexible team area and incorporates AI-based murals from a local artist, creating a workspace that enhances well-being for occupants.
