Indeed creates a 125,000-square-foot Stamford workplace with Gensler

Indeed, a major online employment platform, faced the modern challenge of justifying the physical office commute for its hybrid workforce. Employees expected a workplace that offered experiences unavailable at home, fostering learning, connection, and team culture, all while the company needed to maximize the value of its real estate assets. To address this, Indeed partnered with the architecture and design firm Gensler.

Gensler designed Indeed's 125,000-square-foot Stamford office around experience rather than assigned desks. The solution interconnected two buildings with feature stairs and created a multifunctional amenity hub for dining, events, and large training sessions. The design prioritized hospitality and was inspired by local heritage. As a result, Gensler transformed a fragmented footprint into a connected, self-contained ecosystem that supports culture-building at scale, creating a destination that hybrid employees actively choose to use for shared experiences and continuous learning.
