Hyatt Regency Irvine transforms its ground floor with Gensler’s 120,000-square-foot redesign

The Hyatt Regency Irvine, part of the Hyatt hotel group, faced the challenge of establishing a unique presence in a new market after acquiring an aging property. They needed to evolve with changing travel patterns and bring activation and community connection to the neighborhood. They worked with the vendor Gensler on a redesign and renovation of the hotel's public spaces.

Gensler transformed the hotel's outdated ground floor with a hyperlocal design that marries Southern California approachability with urban sophistication. The solution included an adaptable coworking lounge, a restaurant, a market, and a pool lounge. The impact was a completely transformed hotel that elevated the guest experience, making it a destination for both travelers and locals. The project also achieved a measurable environmental impact, reducing carbon emissions equivalent to planting 114 trees.
