Guilford County Schools builds a 90,000-square-foot gaming and robotics magnet school with Gensler

Guilford County Schools (GCS) faced the challenge of renovating the outdated Foust Elementary, located in a financially challenged area, to meet modern educational standards and improve student performance. To address this, the customer partnered with the vendor Gensler for a design intervention to create a new, innovative magnet school.

Gensler implemented a solution that transformed the school into the nation's first public elementary designed with technology integrated into every aspect of learning. The design was inspired by a printed circuit board, making the building itself a living circuit board that supports a dynamic, technology-driven curriculum. This innovative approach by Gensler prioritizes inclusivity and is designed to foster a lifelong love of learning, preparing the next generation of leaders.
