A Gensler Case Study
Georgetown Day School, the first racially integrated school in Washington, D.C., faced the challenge of uniting its previously spread-out lower and middle schools into a single new campus while bringing its mission of "joyful learning" to life. The school engaged the design firm Gensler for its brand design expertise to create an environment that would prepare it for its next chapter.
Gensler implemented a solution featuring custom, hands-on installations designed to be intriguing and playful. This included low-tech interactive panels on the building exterior and clever interpretations of school materials, like pencils, to create a tactile layer that inspires creative thinking. Through this work, Gensler successfully created a compelling environment that actively engages students and embodies the school's joyful ethos.
