East West Partners creates Cherry Creek West with Gensler: 3M square feet and 840+ new luxury residences

East West Partners faced the challenge of reconnecting Denver's vibrant Cherry Creek neighborhood, which was separated from its namesake creek and surrounding areas by surface parking and car-oriented retail. This disconnect created physical and experiential barriers that limited walkability. To address this, they engaged the vendor Gensler for master planning and urban design services.

Gensler's solution was the creation of Cherry Creek West, a pedestrian-first, mixed-use development featuring over 840 luxury residences, office space, and ground-floor retail, all supported by a district-wide underground garage to enable a vibrant public realm. The project restored the community's connection to the creek, transformed underused land into an active civic asset, and incorporated sustainable principles targeting LEED Gold certification. Gensler's design is projected to reduce emissions by approximately 13.7 metric tons daily and has set a new standard for resilient urban growth in Denver.
