A Gensler Case Study
The city of Draper, Utah sought to evolve its innovation ecosystem beyond isolated research parks. Their challenge was to create an environment that could attract global talent, support rapid cross-disciplinary collaboration, and bridge academic research with real-world application. Gensler provided architecture, interior design, and strategy services to address this need.
Gensler's solution was Convergence Hall, a 167,500-square-foot mixed-use destination that integrates research workspaces, entrepreneurship incubators, and short-term living quarters into a single, vertically connected environment. This design fosters daily interaction through shared community spaces and landscaped outdoor terraces. The project established a new typology for innovation hubs, successfully positioning Draper as a hub for research, creativity, and long-term economic vitality by strengthening the connection between institutions and the community.
