A Gensler Case Study
Covenant House Texas (CHT), a sanctuary for homeless youth in Greater Houston, faced a critical challenge as surging demand had outpaced the capacity of its aging and insecure facilities. To modernize operations and strengthen its services for vulnerable youth, CHT partnered with the architecture and design firm Gensler for a master planning and design solution.
Gensler developed a plan to replace three outdated buildings with a new, unified four-story facility. This solution consolidated operations, improved safety, and incorporated trauma-informed design features to promote healing. The impact for CHT was a secure, nurturing campus that enhances care, allows staff to manage programs more effectively, and empowers youth to transition to independent adulthood, significantly amplifying the organization's mission across Greater Houston.
