The customer, 1364ah Lifestyle Center, faced the challenge of catering to Riyadh's rapidly growing and diversifying population while staying true to regional style and meeting high sustainability standards. Gensler was engaged to design a mixed-use development that could achieve this balance.

Gensler's solution was to create an open, free-flowing lifestyle center with curvilinear forms inspired by the local landscape. The design included extensive outdoor areas, water features, and shading to provide respite from the elements and eliminate the need for costly cooling. The impact was the creation of Riyadh's premier lifestyle center, which won Retail Project of the Year and successfully adapted to increases in both the volume and variety of visitors.
