A Genius ERP Case Study
Motrec, an industry leader in custom electric industrial vehicles based in Sherbrooke, Quebec, was preparing to scale production but faced a disconnect between the shop floor and the front office and inefficiencies in inventory, purchasing, and engineering. To solve this, Motrec implemented the Genius ERP system—including its Product Engineering and Inventory modules—to centralize operations, increase visibility, and support growth.
Genius ERP deployed cycle counting, centralized purchasing, and a product configurator that automated order configuration and workflows. As a result, Motrec eliminated multi-day physical counts (previously costing about $400,000 and three days), boosted inventory accuracy from 72% to 95%, reduced on-hand inventory by 30%, cut purchasing to roughly 25 minutes per day, and expects a ~65% reduction in engineering effort—helping them scale from about 120–130 vehicles per month toward a target of 300 within a year.
