Polak Group, a Mexican chemicals and manufacturing group made up of four companies, needed to modernize and integrate proprietary applications with their existing SAP platform while solving connectivity issues in remote sites. After evaluating options, Polak Group chose GeneXus and its GeneXus ERP Connector for SAP to determine cost, integration capability and the ability to rapidly build multi‑platform applications.

GeneXus implemented the ERP Connector for SAP and delivered customized web and smart‑device apps (SAP–RH, SAP–MM, SAP–SD) that use SAP BAPIs for real‑time integration and support offline operation for remote sites. The result: development time fell from about 12 months to 1 month (programming effort reduced to ~10%), ROI realized in the short term and reportedly multiplied by five, the SAP‑SD offline app saved about USD 70,000 per year, and the Group gained faster decision‑making and capacity to scale operations (125,000 additional tons yearly) thanks to GeneXus.
