Pechugón, the Paraguayan poultry leader under Granja Avícola La Blanca S.A., needed to modernize its aging IT systems as the company expanded internationally. By 2003, its legacy environment could no longer scale to support growing operational complexity, and it needed a web-ready solution that could still integrate with IBM Power DB2 and its IBM AS/400 environment. GeneXus was chosen to help address this challenge.

GeneXus enabled Pechugón to migrate and modernize its critical mission system, moving core applications to GeneXus Java while preserving key RPG-based financial/accounting processes. The result was a scalable, future-proof platform that supports nearly 500 users, faster development and updates, web and mobile capabilities, and greater reliability. Pechugón has continued evolving the system from GeneXus 7.0 to GeneXus 18, and also uses K2B Tools patterns to streamline and standardize processes, improving agility and adaptability.
