Mobile Device Solution for ANCAP and aeronautical industry on AS/400 technology

The National Administrative Office for Fuel, Alcohol and Portland Cement (ANCAP), Uruguay’s state fuel supplier for the aeronautical industry, faced an urgent need to modernize its AS/400 (iSeries)–based invoicing: paper worksheets and manual calculations for fuel weight, temperature and density were slow, error-prone and risked incorrect charges and safety issues. To address this, GeoCom implemented a mobile solution using GeneXus technology for Mobile Devices.

GeoCom built a mobile app generated with GeneXus that integrates in real time with ANCAP’s AS/400/ANTARES invoicing system; two developers completed the work in 300 hours (one month). At Carrasco and Punta del Este airports operators now enter product, liters, temperature and density on-site, send data to ANTARES for immediate invoicing and print receipts via Bluetooth — significantly reducing processing time, minimizing data-entry errors and modernizing the legacy system with GeneXus.
