KPI SIGPROD Platform Higher Productivity and Zero Accidents in Chilean Mining Companies

El Propósito Inversiones, a Chilean company serving the mining sector with over 15 years’ experience, needed a technology system to boost productivity across service contracts, maintenance and construction while also embedding best practices for job safety. Working with GeneXus, they developed the KPI SIGPROD (Comprehensive Productivity Management System) to provide online monitoring of contracts and tools to reduce inefficiency and improve safety.

Using GeneXus to build KPI SIGPROD, El Propósito implemented features for entry/exit control, daily programmed vs. performed progress tracking, equipment management and HSEC compliance, plus online data collection for management reports. The platform delivered measurable benefits: a study highlighted potential losses of 775,833,333 CLP (~1,172,000 USD) per 30 minutes of inefficiency across 300 contracts, and companies using KPI SIGPROD reported zero accidents—especially improving safety in high-tonnage load lifting—while the vendor GeneXus enabled rapid, flexible adaptations to client requirements.
