To evaluate alternatives they compared a manually developed Java solution to GeneXus, specifically using GeneXus X Evolution 1, on a project measured in thousands of lines of code and months of programming effort.

GeneXus generated the application and delivered measurable gains: a 45% productivity increase (by functional points) versus the traditional Java approach, generated code meeting NEC’s quality standards, and a UI that satisfied performance and look-and-feel requirements. Training showed one-week onboarding produced competency comparable to Java training and after two–three weeks non-specialist developers using GeneXus reached specialist-level productivity, demonstrating GeneXus’s strong impact on speed, quality, and learnability.
