A GeneXus Case Study
Grupo Salinas, a Mexican consortium that includes Elektra, Azteca Bank and other businesses, faced rapid expansion, tighter budgets and pressure to automate processes more quickly while using existing staff more efficiently. To meet these challenges they began a pilot with GeneXus (five licenses) and looked for a platform that would speed delivery, lower maintenance costs and make systems more user-friendly.
GeneXus was used to modernize and stabilize Elektra’s SADEXO acquisition-control system (integrated with SAP, acquisitions and invoicing providers) and to develop a new acquisitions solution for some 700–1,000 users; the team also trialed GeneXus’ mobile generators for upcoming field apps. The result was a more stable system with eliminated functional problems, significantly lower maintenance costs, threefold faster development, fivefold greater developer productivity, potential savings of up to one-third versus traditional development, and expectations of halving required developers — all achieved with GeneXus.
