Coppel, Mexico’s most influential chain of department stores, makes software development more dynamic with GeneXus

Coppel S.A. de C.V., Mexico’s leading department-store chain with more than 1,000 stores across Mexico, Brazil and Argentina, needed to accelerate software development and improve operational efficiency for both internal processes and customer-facing services. To meet this challenge, Coppel adopted the GeneXus tool (powered by GXportal) in its systems department to increase productivity, reduce costs, and standardize application development.

Using GeneXus, Coppel delivered over 20 projects in three years—ranging from transportation tracking (unit localization, accident tracing and driver identification) and employee medical records to work-order management, visit scheduling and geo-referenced services. The GeneXus-based solutions produced faster response times, higher quality and greater system stability; notably, a customer-number validation project eliminated the need for a 40-person manual validation rollout (and associated travel costs) by accomplishing the work with a 4-person team.
