Case Study: Boticario achieves cloud migration and rapid SaaS rollout with GeneXus

Boticario is now available on the cloud thanks to GeneXus Cloud

Boticario, the pharmacy management system used by more than one third of Uruguay's pharmacies, faced the challenge of migrating a legacy Visual FoxPro Windows application to the Web to simplify multi‑pharmacy management and speed up updates and client onboarding. To address this, Boticario selected GeneXus and GeneXus Cloud (with implementation support from Simplifica) to rebuild and deliver a cloud‑based solution and a new SaaS offering called Precios al Día.

Using GeneXus, Boticario was migrated to the Web on GeneXus Cloud and deployed on Bluemix, and Precios al Día was launched as a cost‑effective SaaS for smaller pharmacies. The move reduced the long upgrade cycle (previously two to three months for local installs), enabled immediate client activation with just a username and password, centralized multi‑store management, and expanded interoperability options — delivering faster updates and easier scaling thanks to GeneXus.
