Bantotal, developed by De Larrobla & Asociados using GeneXus, is a comprehensive core banking solution for financial institutions. When Panamanian microfinance startup Bandelta needed a modern, scalable core banking system in 2007 to support rapid growth, regulatory reporting and a specialized microfinance product, Bantotal — built with GeneXus — was chosen to meet that challenge.

Using the GeneXus-generated Bantotal platform, Bandelta implemented core, liabilities, assets, housing, regulatory, microfinance, MIS and BI modules on Windows Server 2003 with MS SQL Server 2005, integrating multiple external systems; the project went live in 2009 on time and within budget. The GeneXus-based solution now supports about 250 users, a 50 GB database, 25,000 programs and 4,600 tables, enabled expanded Internet banking and regional growth plans, and delivered measurable operational scalability and compliance.
