Automation in Customs Management using GXtest and GeneXus

Concepto, a Uruguayan company specializing in foreign trade software, needed to protect its mission-critical GIA customs management platform from regressions caused by frequent changes. To avoid production errors, compliance risks, and SLA penalties, the team needed a scalable way to run daily regression tests and increase test coverage. GeneXus and GXtest were used to support this effort.

GeneXus implemented GXtest 3 and later GXtest 4, adding GXtest Recorder, unit testing, and Jenkins-based continuous integration to automate critical flows and system logic. Concepto now runs 140 automated interface tests nightly and unit tests after each build, with results shared through Allure reports. The approach reduced production errors, improved release confidence, accelerated migrations, and helped Concepto build a more agile DevOps culture.
