AlertaBlu Application Emergency alerts for Blumenau residents (SC)

AlertaBlu is an emergency-alert app for residents of Blumenau (SC) that was created to provide fast, convenient information about heavy rains, floods and landslides. Previously the city’s information was available only via an online system and phone lines that became overloaded during emergencies, so the Prefecture’s IT team turned to GeneXus to build a mobile solution.

Using GeneXus (GeneXus Evolution 3), developer Cristian Abreu delivered the Android AlertaBlu app in just 15 days; it has already reached 5,000 downloads, includes offline flood-level checks, and reduces pressure on emergency phone lines. GeneXus enabled faster, lower-cost development, increased productivity across departments, and the Prefecture plans an iOS release soon.
