1800 Radiator - Customer Case Study

1800 Radiator, a leading online auto parts dealer in North America that expanded from about 20 to over 300 franchises between 2005 and 2008, needed to move from a legacy DOS system to a web-oriented platform with Web Services that all franchises could use consistently. GeneXus was chosen as the development tool and GeneXus USA was contracted to build the new Franchise Billing System and support the migration of core modules.

GeneXus implemented a staged migration—starting with Customer Service and later Inventory—building two systems: one to improve web usability of information and another to integrate with the legacy system to handle billing and post-sales processes (invoice printing, mail/faxes, reporting, stock control). GXportal was used to create the franchise resource site. Delivered in only six months, the GeneXus solution substantially reduced maintenance costs and delivered improved continuity and stability for business‑critical processes.
