PFL Healthcare launches two sleep apnoea apps with Genetic Digital

PFL Healthcare, the makers of the Snoreeze brand, needed to generate new revenue streams by converting a server-based machine learning algorithm for sleep apnoea detection into user-friendly, functional mobile apps for iOS and Android. They partnered with vendor Genetic Digital for medical app development and medical device compliance services to achieve this.

Genetic Digital developed two apps: the consumer-facing "Sound Sleep" app and the clinical "Sleep Study" app. Their solution involved rewriting the algorithm for mobile use, designing a contemporary UI, and building a secure backend. The apps were built to IEC 62304 standards, and Genetic Digital assisted with compliance paperwork for CE Marking. The project was a success, with the client praising Genetic Digital's specialized healthcare expertise and professionalism.
