Terminals Pty. Ltd. Switch to Genetec's Platform for IP Surveillance and Access Control

Terminals Pty. Ltd., one of Australia’s largest independent bulk liquid terminalling companies at Coode Island, faced the challenge of securing nearly 27,000 m3 of hazardous storage with a costly 24/7 manned-guard model and a basic, localized access control system that lacked integration, scalability and high-end administration—ultimately failing government acceptance testing. Seeking an IP-based, scalable solution with remote monitoring and unified alarms, Terminals was referred to Integrators Australia and recommended Genetec’s Synergis (with Omnicast video) as the replacement.

Genetec deployed Synergis for access control integrated with Omnicast IP video to unify video, access, fire and process inputs, connecting about 180 alarm input types and controlling 16 PTZ cameras via an automated Security Desk. The Genetec solution passed regulatory tests, enabled remote central‑station monitoring and video verification, reduced overnight guard staffing, and delivered measurable cost and efficiency improvements while maintaining compliance and scalable future expansion.
