Swedish Airport Maximizes Security Resources with Unified Platform

Sundsvall Timrå Airport, a regional airport in Sweden handling about 300,000 passengers a year, faced tight staffing and strict EU security regulations that required dedicated patrols of critical restricted areas. Genetec implemented Security Center with Omnicast video, integrated third‑party analytics and intrusion detection, plus the mobile app and Plan Manager map interface so staff can receive alarms, view live video and acknowledge incidents from their phones. The solution lets the team manage about 19 cameras and 120 intrusion sensors, meets EU compliance, and delivers estimated efficiency savings valued at $120,000 USD per year while improving situational awareness and response times.
