Schneider Electric modernizes video surveillance across nearly half of French sites with Genetec

Schneider Electric, a global leader in energy management and automation, faced the challenge of harmonizing its physical security across its diverse French sites. Their previous proprietary system was rigid, lacked modern cybersecurity, and could not be scaled or centrally monitored. To unify its video surveillance while maintaining operational flexibility, the company partnered with vendor Genetec to overhaul its strategy using the unified Security Center platform.

The solution involved a gradual migration to the open Genetec Security Center platform, which integrated existing cameras and allowed for site-by-site upgrades. Genetec's technology enabled centralized remote supervision for all locations while accommodating three different security levels based on site criticality. As a result, Genetec Security Center is now the company standard in France, deployed at nearly half of its sites. Employees praised the solution's intuitiveness and adaptability, and the platform will support the integration of new security technologies in the future.
