Rugby Football Union invests in Genetec™ Security Center to enhance operator efficiency

Twickenham Stadium, home of the Rugby Football Union, needed to modernize and unify its video and access-control systems ahead of major events like the Rugby World Cup. Seeking an open, easy-to-use platform to improve operator efficiency, non-proprietary growth and better video quality for identification, the RFU selected Genetec and its Security Center solution after a competitive tender.

Genetec implemented a phased rollout of Security Center — including Omnicast™, Synergis™ and Plan Manager — managing 110 cameras while reusing analogue kit via IP encoders, adding Axis network cameras and ten access-control doors, and integrating Digital Barriers analytics. The unified Genetec platform improved operator response and situational awareness (e.g., enabling rapid police notification and high‑resolution evidence when ATM skimming was spotted), reduced deployment time and costs, and consolidated monitoring onto a single intuitive interface.
