Raytown Quality Schools, a Missouri district serving nearly 9,000 students across 15 facilities, struggled with an aging analog CCTV system that left buildings and high‑traffic areas under‑covered and hampered investigations into theft, vandalism and other safety incidents. Seeking an IP‑based, open, scalable platform that would integrate with its existing Synergis access control, the district selected Genetec’s unified security solution—Security Center (with Omnicast and Synergis).

Genetec deployed Security Center across the district: Omnicast now manages almost 500 Panasonic IP cameras, about 25 legacy analog cameras were retained via Axis encoders and 15 Axis IP cameras cover athletic fields, with roughly 70 TB of H.264 storage (≈10‑day retention). The one‑year rollout centralized management, added Active Directory integration and role‑based access, empowered principals to handle investigations directly, provided remote access for police and fire, and delivered measurable gains in response time, operational efficiency and a reported significant increase in students feeling safe.
