Port Freeport - Customer Case Study

Port Freeport, one of the fastest-growing ports on the Gulf Coast, faced limitations with its legacy analog video system as it expanded. The port needed an IP-based solution that would integrate with its vessel-radar system, support wireless cameras, deliver higher image quality, and scale for future growth. LANAIR recommended Genetec’s Omnicast as the vendor/product to meet these needs.

Genetec’s Omnicast was deployed (with LANAIR writing custom SDK integration) to connect the radar to video, add more than 40 Pelco cameras with wireless encoders, and enable automated camera prompting, motion-based alarms, secure remote access and archival playback. The Omnicast integration was completed in under a month, delivered noticeably clearer wireless imagery, sped operator response to vessel alarms, supported after-the-fact theft investigations, and provided scalable capabilities for future additions (including planned sonar integration).
