North Bend schools automate lockdown with Genetec Security Center

North Bend Central Public School District, a community school in Nebraska, faced a challenge with its outdated, manual security system. The district relied on an analog camera system and physical keys, which was a cumbersome process for protecting its facilities. To modernize its security following a federal bond, the school turned to Genetec and implemented Security Center, a unified platform for access control and video surveillance.

Genetec's solution integrated video surveillance with automated access control, enabling the school to automatically lock and unlock doors on a schedule and manage visitor access. The motion-based recording of Genetec's Omnicast system significantly reduced storage needs and costs while making video investigations fast and easy. The result was a major increase in security, maximized staff resources, and the ability to quickly resolve incidents, with the Genetec system proving to be both user-friendly and scalable for future needs.
