New state-of-art baseball stadium hits homerun with Genetec Security Center

BB&T Ballpark, the new $55 million home of the Charlotte Knights, needed to protect a 10,200‑seat, open‑air stadium while preserving a free-flowing guest experience and tightly controlling access to sensitive areas. After consulting with integrator Security101 and Vertex Technology Consultants, BB&T Ballpark selected Genetec’s Security Center (with Omnicast and Synergis) to provide a unified, user‑friendly security platform.

Genetec deployed a solution that unified 50 Axis network cameras, Synergis access control on 10 doors with HID readers, AutoVu and Bosch intrusion panels into a central control room for instant playback, alarm-to-video correlation, and easy badge management. The Genetec system has helped identify employee theft, expedite ejections and bans of unruly fans, improve crowd and shipment management, and detect time‑clock fraud—while retaining motion‑recorded video for at least 30 days (200 GB archive, 1 TB backups)—delivering faster response times and a more efficient security operation.
