Neue Halberg-Guss, a German cast‑iron manufacturer with about 2,000 employees, was struggling with grainy analogue cameras that provided only limited live views and no archived evidence at its Saarbrücken and Leipzig plants. To expand perimeter and entry/exit coverage and enable after‑the‑fact investigations, the company chose Genetec’s Security Center platform, including the Omnicast IP video surveillance system.

Genetec deployed Omnicast to manage 39 cameras with a 10 TB server providing a 28‑day retention period, plus motion detection, video trickling and pre‑programmed alarms. The system improved archiving and operator workflows, enabled quick, automated alarm escalation and scalable growth, and directly prevented an unauthorized weekend access attempt when Omnicast alarms allowed security to intervene—delivering clearer evidence, faster response and stronger perimeter control.
