Multi-campus college makes affordable upgrade to Genetec IP access control

Seminole State College of Florida, a multi‑campus institution serving more than 32,000 students, faced an unstable and costly legacy security platform that strained IT resources and required expensive server processing for video. Seeking a reliable, unified solution that would allow affordable, phased growth, the college worked with integrator SiteSecure to standardize on Genetec’s unified security platform — Genetec Security Center with Synergis access control and Omnicast video.

Genetec implemented Security Center with Synergis and the Synergis Master Controller, virtualized servers and retained existing door hardware to avoid a full rip‑and‑replace. The pilot connected 14 doors (with a roll‑out of another ~320 planned), supported over 300 IP cameras, centralized monitoring across campuses via leased fiber, and yielded an estimated $65,000 savings in door hardware. Seminole State reports faster, more reliable operations, less maintenance and server downtime, and clear ROI from the Genetec deployment.
