Keeping Guests and War Artifacts Safe with Unified Security

The National World War II Museum in New Orleans, a 6‑acre campus hosting over 700,000 annual visitors and employing about 300 staff, faced rising costs and operational strain from aging, disparate video and access-control systems. Seeking an open IP platform to simplify management and preserve existing hardware, The National World War II Museum selected Genetec’s Security Center (including Omnicast™ and Synergis) to replace multiple standalone systems.

Genetec, working with Siemens and partners, implemented Security Center to unify video surveillance, access control and intrusion detection—operators now monitor 270+ cameras and 100 doors from a single interface (Plan Manager and the Security Center Mobile App), reuse existing door readers via Synergis Cloud Link, and integrate with Microsoft Active Directory. The Genetec solution delivered measurable results: significant cost reductions from fewer maintenance agreements and hardware reuse, faster incident response (quickly locating and sharing video evidence), streamlined staff training, and scalable security to support ongoing museum expansion.
