South Grand CID, a political subdivision that manages a 90-space public parking lot in St. Louis, sought to deter rising license-plate theft and give local police quicker access to evidence. The board chose Genetec’s cloud video monitoring solution, Stratocast™, but faced a connectivity challenge because the lot is several blocks from the main office.

Genetec’s Stratocast™ was deployed (with Secure View building a wireless loop back to the main office) and three cameras now cover the entire lot. Within two weeks the system produced footage that identified a plate-theft suspect in seconds, officers can log in remotely via the Federation™ feature, and investigations are faster and more efficient. The bundled, quarterly subscription (five-year term) simplified budgeting and helped South Grand CID quickly strengthen visitor and community safety.
