Case Study: Lee Health achieves unified security and streamlined operations with Genetec Security Center

A Genetec Case Study

How unification became the cure for failing healthcare security systems

Lee Health, the largest public health system in Florida serving over 1 million patients across more than 100 sites, was struggling with aging, disparate analog video and access systems that slowed investigations and left operators unaware of offline cameras or failed door hardware. Facing the construction of a new children’s hospital and a broader push to modernize, Lee Health selected Genetec and its Security Center platform (along with Omnicast, Synergis, AutoVu, Sipelia and Clearance modules) to replace multiple legacy systems with a single unified security solution.

Genetec implemented a centralized Security Center deployment across 20 sites (with 700+ cameras and 325 doors currently connected and numbers expected to double), enabling unified video, access, ALPR, intercom and evidence management. The upgrade sped incident response, reduced liability claims, improved vehicle throughput with AutoVu, and supported a virtual sitter program delivering over $7,000/week per unit in ROI; Clearance simplified secure evidence sharing while Security Center’s health monitoring and cybersecurity posture closed previous gaps.
